Spanish artist Pepa Prieto creates triptych "Alehoop!". The new limited edition prints edited by Contemporánea. Pepa Prieto (1974, Spain) is a painter and designer. She discloses all her fantasy in a world full of freshness. An oniric world marked by a naïve, folky touch which shows clearly in her use of the colour palette and the characters represented. Her work recalls those adolescent drawings with a simple line but a complicated composition where extravagant inhabitants share the setting with geometric shapes, mountains, urban country sides and figures. Her very detailed work, with flat images in a range of colour and textures, has a naïf touch but also it has a complex, humorous and ironic vision about the deepest human behaviour. Pepa Prieto also works for commercial brands such as MTV Networks, Salomon Snowboards, Orange, Little Otsu, Glamour Mag, Stone designs, Vueling, The Body Shop, Carhartt, Element Skateboards, among others. Her work has been shown worldwide, including galleries and museums in Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and London. Pepa signed the edition in her studio in Madrid before going to Miami and California for next three months. Pepa Prieto's "Alehoop!" is the first edition edited by Contemporanea this year. Remember the two editions signed by Fernando Elvira and Tim Biskup in 2009. All these editions are now available for everyone and also for the Members of Contemporanea. Prieto realiza el tríptico "Alehoop!".
La nueva edición limitada producida por Contemporánea.
Pepa Prieto (1974, España) es pintora y diseñadora.
Ella desata toda su fantasía en un trabajo lleno de frescura,
representando un mundo onírico marcado por el toque naïf
de su paleta y por la amalgama de personajes que en él
habitan. El resultado es una gran composición de escenas
que forman un complejo mundo cargado de alegorías y mensajes
secretos. Sus pinturas recuerdan a los dibujos adolescentes de
trazo sencillo pero composición complicada, donde extravagantes
pobladores comparten escenario con formas geométricas,
montañas, paisajes urbanos y figuras que se entrelazan.
Sus dibujos encierran a su vez una compleja visión irónica
y divertida sobre los sentimientos humanos más profundos. |
