Contemporánea and the Centro de Historias de Zaragoza present the exhibition 'The Agatha Christie Show', the first major exhibition on the queen of crime that brings together in Spain unpublished material and collections of the works of the most famous author of the genre: Agatha Christie. The exhibition, curated by Juan José Montijano, can be visited from February 22 to July 21. 'Agatha Christie's Show' takes the witness of the entire life and professional career of this author, undoubtedly marked by the progress in the achievements of women in the field of detective novels, traditionally assigned to the male genre and influenced by famous writers such as Edgar Allan Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The exhibition, through its different modules, tells the life and professional story of a woman ahead of her time, cultivator of all literary genres: narrative, short stories, poetry, theater, children's stories..., through a wide sample of her works as well as her influence in the field of audiovisual and cultural media: cinema, television, pop culture... The exhibition includes audiovisuals and more than 500 objects related to Christie's particular universe: the Ten Little Indians, the model of the Orient Express, pens, posters, soundtracks, photographs, a 1920 Remington pistol like the one Christie owned, a replica of a 1920 Orient Express lamp, poison bottles, stilettos, letter openers, an original Egyptian guidebook from the ITC "Poirot" series used by David Suchet, autographs, dolls, games, films.....'The Agatha Christie Show' is organized thematically and analyzes the life and work of Agatha Christie and her great impact on the production of crime and noir-related themes in all the arts, be it literature, theater, or audiovisual arts, such as radio, cinema or television. The narrative journey of the exhibition passes through the following sections: Ballad for the Lady of Crime, A Line is Murder, Necrology for the Queen of Crime, Planning the Perfect Crime, A Murder is Announced, and, finally, a documentary on the life and work of the author. |
